Your Niche Isn’t the Problem. This Is.
A lot of agency owners tell me the same thing:
"We just do Facebook and Google ads. How do we stand out?"
And every time, I think of that old joke.
A guy walks into a doctor’s office and says, "Doc, it hurts when I do this."
The doctor says, "Then stop doing that.
If you’re struggling to stand out, the problem isn’t your niche. It’s the way you’re trying to position yourself.
Most agencies think the answer is picking a hyper-specific niche or throwing out some flashy guarantee like, "We help pet clothing brands scale 350% in 75 days or I PayPal you $1,000."
That’s not a niche. That’s just a gimmick.
The truth is, picking a random niche won’t magically make your agency different. Clients don’t care if you run ads for dentists, ecom brands, or SaaS companies. What they care about is whether you can solve a problem they actually have.
Instead of forcing yourself into some arbitrary niche, ask yourself:
What’s a painful problem that brands already know they need to fix?
What’s something they’d pay to fix right now, without needing a 90-minute sales call?
What’s a service that lets them test working with you before committing to a long-term contract?
That’s how you stand out. Not by trying to be different for the sake of it, but by solving an obvious, immediate problem in a way that makes it easy for clients to say yes.
This shift alone is how I closed over $4M in agency deals and became a Shopify Plus Partner in two years.

P.S. If your whole strategy right now is "we run great Facebook ads"... you’re making this way harder than it needs to be.
