Your LinkedIn profile is scaring off leads

I was auditing an agency owner's LinkedIn profile on a sales call yesterday.

They had 8 different links in their Featured section. EIGHT.

(And they wondered why nobody was booking calls)

Call booking forms, old case studies, blog posts, a random podcast episode. Everything was just thrown in there.

This happens all the time. Agency owners try to cram everything into their profile.

They:

• Try to be everything to everyone

• Stuff their profile with every achievement since birth

• Add so many CTAs that visitors get overwhelmed

I used to do this too. My profile looked like a mix between a CV and a business card.

But after helping hundreds of students clean up their LinkedIn profiles, I’ve learned one thing.

SIMPLICITY wins.

The clearer your profile is, the faster your ideal clients find you.

Here’s how to fix it:

• Choose ONE niche. The smaller, the better. Instead of “I help agencies grow,” say, “I help $20k ecom agencies hit $100k.”

• Keep your headlines focused on outcomes when you're starting out. Once you're established, you can play around more.

And please, for the love of coffee, only put 1-2 links in your Featured section:

• A form to book calls (not your calendar)

• A lead magnet for folks who aren't ready yet

When you narrow down, your perfect clients actually find you faster.

One of my clients tried this approach last month. Simplified their profile, niched down to ecom agencies... landed 3 perfect-fit clients in 2 weeks.
