stop writing ai posts
if you sell trust
I spent the last 9 months using AI for 95% of my written content.
Now, using ChatGPT on LinkedIn feels fundamentally deceptive.
I mean...
You're trying to convince someone you did more labor than you actually did. You're signaling "I thought deeply about this and put real work into it" when you really didn't.
That's why people almost feel betrayed when they discover you're using AI-written content.
Even IF quality is there...
It's more so about the trust.
Think about it:
If you were on a dating app looking for the love of your life, would you want a template that "works for everyone"?
Of course not.
You'd want a GENUINE connection with real thoughts and authentic expression.
The exact same applies to where I'm seeing LinkedIn (and pretty much all written) content going...
Your clunky paragraphs, minor mistakes, and slightly imperfect phrasing - those are actually a net-POSITIVE in most cases now. Purely because they're signals of humanity.
They reveal that there still is someone behind the screen of the personal brand you so dearly admire.
And in my case, I actually PREFER working with someone whose writing is a bit idiosyncratic, because I learn something about their thought process.
TAKEAWAY:
Look.
AI has its place.
For low-stakes, high-volume stuff?
Sure.
But if you're:
Selling high-ticket services
Building long-term relationships
Positioning yourself as a thought leader
...people absolutely must trust you.
And trust comes from knowing there's a real human behind the words who cares enough to think through what matters to them.
The written word is a representation of what you think.
When you remove your thoughts from the equation, you remove the possibility of genuine connection.
Your prospects can feel it.
Now more than ever - start leaning into your own voice.
