"How Much Time Will This Take"

The real question is - how much time are you wasting right now

I am starting a new cohort of Modern Agency Sales on Wednesday.

I always get the same question…

“How much time will this take?”

I get it.

When I ran an agency I worked every second of the day from 7am to midnight.

I had no time to do anything, let alone make lead magnets.

I was too busy solving client problems, fighting fires, and trying to get the next client.

But here’s what I didn’t understand.

If had I spent that time making lead magnets, I would have had a lot less problems.

If you run an agency, here are your two jobs:

  1. Get revenue

  2. Get staff (to service the revenue)

The most efficient way to get revenue, is to get in front of your target audience and show them how you can solve their problems.

The most efficient way to get in front of your target audience is to make extensive lead magnets that show them

  1. exactly what you do and

  2. how you do it.

If you don’t do that, you’re relying on people to book on your calendar based only on a few snippets of information in content.

And you’re relying on that content to essentially distribute itself.

It will not happen.

If you as an agency owner dedicate 5 - 10 hours per week to making and distributing lead magnets - first via LinkedIn content, and then via cold email and potentially paid ads

  1. You will have more clients to choose from.

  2. That means you will choose better, higher-paying clients who cause less issues.

  3. That means you will have more time during the day to do whatever you want.

  4. You can re-invest that time in making more lead magnets.

  5. Which will get you even better, even higher-paying clients who cause even less issues.

I cannot stress enough. The more leads you have, the easier it is to run an agency.

But the short answer -

My program will take about 5 hours a week to implement.

Many larger agencies bring a couple of staff on the calls and delegate the work.

Each task is broken out in a nice table like this:

And you’ll get instructions for each one.

So yes, it takes some time.

But in the long run you will run a significantly better, easier to run business -

If you focus on making content that explains how you solve your ICPs problems

And let your staff deal with the day to day.
